I've done DIY assembly numerous times in the past, and my experience had always been terrible. Missing parts, inadequate instruction, half-assed design...

Not with this item.

Delivery was fast, considering it came from Canada. Packaging was a bit roughed-up, but the contents remained intact. No missing parts, very clear and good instructions of 25 steps. It took me about 3.5 hours (I was not in a hurry and read the instruction very carefully...I am also not that much of a handy-man). At some point I called customer support to report a part I mistakenly thought was missing. It was a Saturday, but my call was answered immediately, and the order for a new part placed by a courteous operator (free of charge, of course). I then called back and cancelled the order because I found the part.
The unit is nice-looking, just as the picture, and all the parts (including the cabinets) fit together well.
Overall, given the functionality and appearance I think the item presents a very good value for the price paid.

Good Product for the money - M. Sabatino -
When I initially received the stand, the top, larger shelf had a scratch 1/2 of the width of the piece and it wasn't something that I could touch up nor live with. I called Amazon, got a partial credit and then called South Shore who eventually shipped out a replacement piece free of charge. It took about 10 days to get it, but in the end I got a great deal on the unit. The directions aren't too difficult to understand and one person can assemble this for the most part (although having an extra hand in a couple steps helps). I did not install the feet, as they are plastic and cheep-looking, but the stand looks great without them and sits on carpet. I have a 46" flatscreen and it looks fine on the upper shelp. I was looking for a relatively inexpensive stand that was a little more compact in a dark espresso/chocolate finish. This is a good buy for the money and the frosted glass and nickel accents add a little class to the unit.

Look for one of the things that you and your ex really connected on, something that she really admired in you, and let her see that about you. Maybe it was your health and fitness regime or your dedication to your children or family - whatever it was that was a huge spark before, try to find a way of being that back to her attention without telling her.
 
How to get a girl back from a guy is not easy to do because it is so hard for us to see our gal with someone else. But you cannot let yourself lose control. Stay focused and you'll be amazed at the results.

Family Guy - The Journey Episode

Peter Griffin and three of his friends go to the local bar at Karaoke night. To Peter's surprise, the bar is in a relatively lackluster mood. Money Making and the Family Guy

This article is for the guys and perhaps those who want to understand them a little better. Within almost every guy is a natural inclination to provide for his family. There are exceptions of course, but for the most part the guy still has the desire to provide well for his family. This typical 'Guy' will assume the pressures of the monthly bills and the pressures of keeping his family healthy and safe.

10 Secrets to Get a $30,000 Kitchen For Under $3,000

You see it all the time on TV. People spend outrageous amounts of money to get new kitchens. You can get a new kitchen for a lot less money than your TV would lead you to believe.

I once owned a lovely Cape Cod house with an 80's style melamine and oak strip kitchen. When we decided to sell to start a new business, potential buyers all hated that kitchen. We didn't get a single offer. We had no choice but to take the house off the market and fix the kitchen. If you think you might need to resell an attractive kitchen is important. But more importantly it's nice for any homeowner to have a kitchen they love.

We asked the pros what it would cost to reface our kitchen. They estimated it would cost $20,000 to $30,000. And hiring "pros is not without risk. They may or may not do an adequate job. We did our first DIY attempts because of bad experiences with "experts" who didn't deliver.

So we decided to do it ourselves...again.

We did it for $1,200.

Yes we saved at least $18,800 bucks, maybe more.

You can do it, too. Here's how.

Do it one step at a time.

1. Your first step involves making decisions about the layout of your kitchen. If it is reasonably functional keep the sinks and appliances in their current positions. We did not move anything in our kitchen and saved lots of money.

2. Next keep your cabinet boxes if possible. This is a "green" issue as well as a price issue. Cabinets cost a lot of money and should never end up in a landfill. If you do not plan to reuse your cabinets at least donate them to a local charity like Habitat for Humanity or Good Will.

3. Check out home stores for good buys in cabinetry or rejects from manufacturers and cabinetmakers.

4. You can keep the boxes and just get new doors for a new look without some of the cost. I had a cabinetmaker make me paneled doors out of MDF and spray painted them cream. They did wonders for my kitchen and made my house sellable at the same time.

5. Make sure the style of your kitchen matches the exterior style of your house. This is important. My house did not sell because the house was very traditional and the kitchen was 80's modern. People who liked the house hated that kitchen. The house did not sell because of it.

6. Check out appliances that have a few dents or are lightly used. You can find good serviceable things if you can't afford new and perfect. Also look for in stock appliances that are on sale. Stores that keep inventory sometimes have sales. Paying cash might give you an edge for bargaining for better prices, too. Sometimes the only barrier between you and a better price is just asking. Have the gall to ask.

7. Consider using lower cost options for counter tops and floors. Butcher block or bamboo is way cheaper than granite and beautiful and functional. Ceramic tile is both functional and attractive and a good value, too. I'm going for solid surface with recycled glass for my next trick.

8. Look for used furniture that can be incorporated into your kitchen. An old buffet might make a great island. An old armoire could be a pantry. Get creative. You might get a really unique, furniture style kitchen for a lot less money.

9. Don't demolish the old until you have the new on site. Your job will go a lot faster. Keep your old kitchen until you have everything you need to make the new one. We installed our whole new kitchen in one weekend (2 days).

10. Meet code. Building codes exist to make buildings safe. You can download this data from your local government.

All our work was worth it. When we put our house up for sale again we advertised it in the local paper one weekend. It sold to the first lookers for the asking price and without a realtor.

We are making plans to put a "new" kitchen into our current home reusing the existing cabinets, replacing worn out appliances and moving the kitchen to another location in the house. It will not cost a lot of money. I'm too cheap to pay the pros and I'm not changing.

If you have already been to Ukraine you will know how proud local people are when it comes to family and achievements. If you have not been here before: here are a few clues how to understand the traditions.

Ukrainians are hospitable. Sometimes they are so hospitable, that a foreigner gets scared and simply wants to leave as soon as possible. If you have spent so much money and time to come to this country, then you will be sorry, if all of a sudden you leave. Ukrainian girls will try most of the time to explain this or that and why, but you will have so many questions that it will be hard to get the answers to all of them immediately. Here are a few short guidelines that cover the basics of Ukrainian cordiality, as for the details, do not be afraid to ask your girlfriend.

Family plays an important part in the life of every Ukrainian girl. Young women live with their parents until they get married. Sometimes they leave their homes for a few years while they are in the university, but as soon as their studies are over, they go back home. They respect their parents so much that sometimes they are ready to follow a career in medicine or public sector, because according to the old generation these professions are prestigious.

Young ladies have a rebellious nature, they know that there is a whole world full of chances and good possibilities and they often search for the perfect husband out of Ukrainian boundaries. Still because they are very close to their families, their parents know about their steps and even if they cannot always agree with them, they support their daughters.

During the dinner or supper you should be polite and pay attention to everyone. Probably the parents will speak only in Ukrainian or Russian and definitely you will need interpreting help. Language barriers may make you nervous but do not let this to ruin your time together.

When you talk, speak slowly and try to have as clear pronunciation as possible. Wait for someone to finish the speech and then ask for translation. Alternatively, when you have something to say, ask for excuse that you do not speak the local language and ask your Ukraine girl to translate for your words.

Surely the parents will have a lot of questions: what do you do, do you own house, car, do you have brothers and sisters, what are your parents like, do they work or they are retired, what you do in your spare time and so on. Before the meeting try to answer these questions and ask your date for translation of some of the words. Learn a few Ukrainian words and surely with will make great positive impression on your future parents in law!
