Anime's Bad Rap in the West

Although more understood for what it is by some Anime continues to suffer from misconception by many people in North America which is a shame.

As a art form Anime has no equal with its visually stunning animation and deep storylines that appeal to young and old alike. Unfortunately the majority of western people have never even watched a Anime movie or TV series or would ever even consider letting their children view one because of preconceived ideas of what it is.

Contrary to popular belief Anime is NOT full of sex and nude cartoon characters, that is the provence of the more underground Henti animation. Sure, some Anime TV shows in Japan will show naked characters as they are more relaxed then in America about the human form but that is not the norm nor are those scenes usually contained in DVD's sold in the west unless it is made quite clear on the packaging.

Even with those scenes cut out it does not interrupt the flow of a Anime storyline as that is not what a Anime is built around. Most Anime shows and movies are very much a G rated storyline even uncut and are far superior in both visuals and storyline then western animation.

If you have never watched a Anime you are missing out on a great form of home entertainment that is suitable for your whole family. Some to consider for those that are just getting started in viewing Anime are the full length movies "Spirited Away", "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Kiki's delivery Service".

These are just a few of the hundreds of Animes that will open up a whole new world of animation to you.

Family Guy Cartoon; Best of Breed

Of all the cartoon sitcom of the genre Family Guy is indeed the best of breed. If you will remember its predecessors such as; Wait Until Your Father Gets Home and The Simpsons it is obvious that Family Guy is a cut above. Of course when you rock the boat as much as they do, it is hard to find a home network, as sometimes it offends folks. But with the huge following the cartoon is more than in demand.

Indeed fellow cartoon viewer, I love that Family Guy cartoon show, great stuff, heck they slam everybody and you know it is good too, because people are WAY too uptight
these days! Currently I see the need to laugh at our selves a little and dump some of the political correctness for a stereotype reality check. Why? Well because most stereotypes are bathed in at least some truth otherwise they would not be stereotypes at all.

Currently I am running a think tank and I find the Family Guy as a good warm up to dump the political correctness in order allow fluidity of thought. You see, well, you know if you structure a think tank too stuffy like, then you control thought rather than allow proper "anything goes" flows of thought and therefore you ruin the whole essence of what a Think Tank really is.

Because controlled thought well, one could hardly say that is thinking? Flowing thought and focused thought is far better similar to fluidity of motion wins the battle and eventually the war. You cannot address real issues if you hide the political correctness and sweep reality under the carpet. Consider all this in 2006.

Customer Reviews

Be advised: this is a CRT based TV - Anthony Close - Chicago, USA
I was interested in this product, but it turns out this is a CRT based TV, not LCD.

I didn't know that they still make CRT based TVs, based on the amount of room they take (12.5 inches in this case), power consumption, etc.

If someone is satisfied with a CRT based TV, more power to them (literally!), and they may rate it highly based on how it works. But I am giving it 1 star based only on the fact that Amazon does not disclose anywhere in its description that this is CRT based. Gimme a break, Amazon.

marginal at best - jc - santa cruz, ca USA
I purchased two of these units as monitors for some DVD recorders and they are marginal at best. The seller was fine -- no mark against them -- other than selling an inferior product. The picture quality is not particularly sharp, the colors are over saturated and even with adjustment still tear. Only purchase these if you don't need to watch the picture -- just use it for monitoring. I will probably keep them...but I don't have a lot of confidence that they will last very long.

Sansui/Orion does not stand behind their product - Chick Daniels - Virginia Beach, VA
Less than two years ago, I bought an Orion/Sansui TV. Less than a year later, it blew up. Was under warrantee, so they had to pay for it's repair. The digital board was shot among other things. Now less than a year after that, it blew up again. Called Orion assuming that the replacement parts from less than a year ago would also be under the same 1 year warrantee, but was shocked to discover they only put a 90 day warrantee on their replacement parts. So I told the lady very nicely that she could at least pay the to have my set looked at by the repair shop and she wouldn't do it. So I told her they were gonna lose one way or the other. I obviously bought a lemon, and they wouldn't stand behind their product, nor their parts. I told her she could help me out, or with my remaining 30 or 40 years on this planet I would tell everyone I know to NOT BUY ANY ELECTRONICS FROM ORION. I assured her that I would be certain to persuade enough people to not buy their product that they would be worse off than standing behind their product now. She chose this route:

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ORION. IT IS JUNK, and they will NOT stand behind their product.

Great portable DTV - S. Kilborn - Plymouth, MN.
This 13inch DTV has a great picture, great sound all the features you find on a larger set. It is easy to set up and for a kitchen or even a child's bedroom. It is a excellent TV.

Get a Guy to Like You - Don't Let Him Get Away

So how can you really get a guy to like you? Do you have to act like someone you are not? Do you have to be as gorgeous as a movie star? Or can an average girl learn how to make men wild for her too? So you've fallen for a guy and you've tried waiting for him but you think that he needs a little push? But maybe you've been told that it isn't proper for a girl to go after her man? But the simple truth is that sometimes a girl has to take matters into her own hands.

In certain times and places in history women weren't even allowed to think about a guy that her parents didn't pick out for her. Marriage was arranged by the parents and extended families more for social reasons than for the concept of romantic love. Thanks to a movement of poets in France, courtly romantic love was introduced to the world on whole and we have never looked back. But what's the good of your freedom to choose who you love is you can't get the guy you like to like you?

In order to get his attention there are two main things that need to start doing. First, you have to get out there and look for him. If you are shy you have to just put your best face forward and keep reminding yourself how lucky you are to live in a day and time when women get to fall in love with whom they choose. Once you met him, continue to get out there by enjoying the things that he loves with him. Don't always make him to only the things that you love. A couple should have some give and take. If he is able to have fun with you and enjoy his time with you then odds are he will start to fall for you.

Second, it's a good idea to put your best effort into trying to find out what makes him tick. Listen carefully to him when he talks about his hobbies and his friends and family. The way to a man's heart is through his passions. If he sees that you are showing enthusiasm for the things that he gets excited about he will start to equate that same excitement with the thought of you.

You can't trick a guy to have feelings for you but you can make sure that if he is the right one for you he knows it. These tips can help you to get a guy to like you and to make him stick around to find out how far you two can go.
